The Paradise Release Date Announced: Nani’s Most-Awaited Action Drama Set to Hit Screens on September 24, 2026
Nani’s much-awaited action drama The Paradise is finally locked for a theatrical release on September 24, 2026. Directed by Srikanth Odela, the film marks the reunion of the actor-director duo after their successful collaboration on Dasara. The makers officially reaffirmed the September 24 date on September 7, putting an end to the latest round of postponement rumours.
The announcement comes at a crucial stage for a film that has been building anticipation for nearly two years. From its mysterious title announcement to its intense promotional material and teaser, The Paradise has positioned itself as one of Nani’s most ambitious and darker projects yet.
The Paradise: From Nani–Srikanth Odela Reunion to a Pan-India Event
The journey of The Paradise began with the success of Dasara, which brought Nani and debutant director Srikanth Odela together. Their second collaboration was initially known simply as #NaniOdela2, before the makers officially revealed the title The Paradise on November 6, 2024.
The title announcement immediately sparked curiosity because the film appeared to be heading in a very different direction from the conventional image of a Nani entertainer.
Srikanth Odela has described the film as a raw and uncompromising story, while Nani has previously compared its scale and world-building to Mad Max, hinting at an intense action-driven cinematic experience.
What Is The Paradise About?
Set against the backdrop of 1980s Secunderabad, The Paradise explores themes of social inequality, discrimination, oppression and the struggle for identity and recognition.
The story revolves around a marginalised community whose rights have been systematically taken away. At the centre of this world is Nani’s character, Jadal Zamana, an unlikely and rebellious leader who becomes a symbol of resistance for people fighting against an oppressive social structure.
The film's promotional material suggests that this is not simply a conventional commercial action film. Its world is built around power, class, violence and rebellion, with the struggle of ordinary people forming the emotional core of the narrative.
Nani’s Most Intense Transformation Yet
One of the biggest talking points surrounding The Paradise has been Nani’s transformation for the role.
Unlike the softer and more grounded characters that have defined several phases of his career, the actor appears in a much more rugged and aggressive avatar. His distinctive braided hairstyle, raw appearance and intense screen presence have already generated considerable attention following the teaser's release.
The teaser further established the film as a violent and politically charged action drama. It introduced a conflict involving Nani’s Jadal Zamana and the powerful Maalik family, played by Mohan Babu and Raghav Juyal.
Raghav Juyal as the Antagonist
Another major attraction is Raghav Juyal, who takes on a negative role opposite Nani.
Raghav plays Vikram Maalik, while Mohan Babu plays Shikanja Maalik, establishing a power structure that appears to control the world in which the protagonist lives. The teaser gives viewers a glimpse of the intense rivalry between these characters and hints at a larger battle for control and justice.
The cast also includes Kayadu Lohar, Sonali Kulkarni, Sampoornesh Babu, Babu Mohan and Tanikella Bharani, with Keerthy Suresh reportedly making a special appearance.
Anirudh Ravichander Adds Another Layer
The film's music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander, adding another major selling point to the project.
The promotional campaign has already delivered tracks such as “Aaya Sher” and “Yeshanagula”, with the latter receiving attention for its Telangana folk-inspired musical flavour. The songs have helped establish the film's aggressive and earthy tone well before its theatrical release.
For a film built around rebellion and confrontation, Anirudh’s energetic soundscape could become an important part of the theatrical experience.
The Release Date Journey
Interestingly, September 24 is not the film's original release date.
The Paradise was initially announced for a March 26, 2026 theatrical release. The date was later moved to August 21, before the makers eventually announced September 24, 2026.
The film subsequently faced fresh speculation that it could be pushed once again, reportedly because of remaining visual-effects and technical work, particularly involving its CG-heavy climax. There were reports suggesting October 1 as a possible alternative date.
However, the makers have now officially reiterated that September 24, 2026 remains the theatrical release date.
A Major Pan-India Release
The Paradise is being positioned as a major multilingual release rather than a Telugu-only project.
The film is scheduled to be released in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada and Malayalam, with promotional material being prepared across languages.
That gives the film a much wider theatrical footprint and places considerable expectations on Nani to take his action-oriented image to audiences beyond the Telugu market.
What Makes The Paradise Special?
The biggest attraction of The Paradise is the combination of three factors: Nani’s transformation, Srikanth Odela’s raw filmmaking style and a story rooted in social oppression and rebellion.
Following Dasara, expectations from Srikanth Odela have risen significantly. The director now has the opportunity to expand his gritty filmmaking approach into a much larger world, backed by a star-led pan-India production.
At the same time, Nani appears to be deliberately stepping away from the familiar “Natural Star” image and embracing a far more aggressive screen persona.
The Paradise Release Date
With the latest official confirmation, The Paradise is scheduled to release worldwide in theatres on September 24, 2026.
After multiple changes to its release schedule and months of anticipation, the countdown has now entered its final stage. With Nani and Srikanth Odela returning together, Anirudh Ravichander on music, Raghav Juyal as the antagonist and a story built around rebellion and oppression, The Paradise is shaping up to be one of the most closely watched Indian releases of September 2026.

Gatta Kusthi 2 Review
But consider this scenario: In the hero’s intro scene in a movie that pretends to promote women’s empowerment, we see him powering through a crowd of women who have gathered around a tanker lorry to collect water. In the rush, his head gets stuck between the hips of two women (No, I am not joking).
