Set in a world shaped by caste, violence, and toxic masculinity, two childhood friends grow up inseparable in rural Tamil Nadu. Their lives are transformed by the arrival of Dorothy, a woman whose compassion quietly challenges the world around them.
Director: Karthik Subbaraj
Cast: Keerthy Suresh, Sananth, Rishikanth, Muruganantham, Suraj Ram
Karthik Subbaraj delivers a bold, beautifully crafted and emotionally engaging film with terrific performances from Sananth and Rishikanth, while Ilaiyaraaja’s music elevates several key moments. The writing, atmosphere, friendship, and unconventional storytelling work extremely well for most of the runtime.
But the forced and disappointing climax leaves a bitter aftertaste. that was truly an unwanted shit that ruined the whole experience that the film built over climax. The film builds so strongly towards its conclusion that the final stretch feels rushed and overly convenient, taking away some of the impact created by everything that came before.
A Karthik Subbaraj masterpiece for most of its runtime, unfortunately let down by its climax.
